Many teams begin with a model demo. A better starting point is the operational step they want to improve, the information that step needs and the decision that follows.
Start with one repeated task
Examples include classifying incoming emails, extracting fields from invoices, summarising support tickets or matching enquiries to a suitable service. Each has a clear input and a reviewable output.
Connect the systems of record
The model is only one component. Your CRM, ERP, document store and internal database remain responsible for authoritative data. APIs and automation workflows move information between these systems.
Design for human oversight
For consequential actions such as customer outreach, payment changes and data deletion, include review gates. An AI suggestion should be traceable and editable before the action is applied.
Measure real outcomes
Look beyond prompt output. Track how often the automation is correct, how much review it needs, where errors occur and whether it actually reduces work.
Good automation is quiet: it removes needless steps while preserving responsibility and control.
